The Central Lions softball team scored 5 runs and limited the host Newnan Cougars to 1 in the Lions non-league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, Central moves its record to 7-5 on the year. The Lions host Sonoraville (Calhoun, GA) to clash with the Phoenix in a 4A Region 7 game on Thursday, September 7. The Phoenix come into the game with a record of 10-4. Sonoraville won 6-1 in their recent non-league game against Dawson County (Dawsonville, GA)

In their next game, the Cougars clash with the Northgate Vikings (Newnan, GA) in a non-league test, on Wednesday, September 6. Newnan will attempt to improve on its 10-2 season record. The Vikings come into the test with a 3-6 record after their 7-5 league win over Harris County (Hamilton, GA).
