Mississippi High School Volleyball - Newton County over Choctaw Central

Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS) supporters left the game in high spirits Tuesday as they observed their volleyball squad top the host Choctaw Central Warriors (Philadelphia, MS), 3-1 in a league match.

Next up, the Cougars clash with the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans (Meridian, MS) in a Class 4 Region 5 match, on Thursday, September 7. Newton County will attempt to advance on its 20-2 season record. The Trojans come into the match with a 13-2 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Pelahatchie (Pelahatchie, MS).

With the loss, Choctaw Central drops to 13-8 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to West Lauderdale (Collinsville, MS) to clash with the Knights in a Class 4 Region 5 match on Thursday, September 7. The Knights come into the match with a record of 20-10. West Lauderdale lost 3-0 in their recent non-league match against Madison Central (Madison, MS)
