In Tuesday's non-league battle, the host Ponder Lions volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Gunter Tigers.

The Lions (16-8) will now prepare for their battle against Whitesboro (Whitesboro, TX). The Bearcats come into the 3A Region II District 10 battle with a 16-12 record. In their last battle, Whitesboro achieved victory over Howe (Howe, TX), 3-1, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Tigers clash with the Howe Bulldogs (Howe, TX) in a 3A Region II District 11 battle, on Friday, September 8. Gunter will attempt to advance on its 16-10 season record. The Bulldogs come into the battle with a 5-12 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Whitesboro (Whitesboro, TX).
