In Thursday's league challenge, the visiting Gaston Day Spartans volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the SouthLake Christian Academy Eagles.

The Spartans (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against The Burlington School (Burlington, NC). The Spartans enter the challenge with a 1-5 record. In their last challenge, The Burlington School beat River Mill (Graham, NC), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Eagles meet the Bradford Prep Bears (Charlotte, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, September 9. SouthLake Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 6-1 season record. The Bears enter the challenge with a 3-3 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Community School of Davidson (Davidson, NC).
