Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Red River Roughriders (Grand Forks, ND) and the visiting Sheyenne Mustangs (West Fargo, ND), saw Red River's soccer squad hold off Sheyenne by a count of 2-1.

The Roughriders (4-3) will now prepare for their battle against Shanley (Fargo, ND). The Deacons enter the East Region battle with a 1-6 record. In their last battle, Shanley was edged by Fargo North (Fargo, ND), 2-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Mustangs confront the Fargo North Spartans (Fargo, ND) in a East Region battle, on Saturday, September 7. Sheyenne will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Spartans enter the battle with a 2-3 record after their 2-0 league win over Shanley (Fargo, ND).
