The Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes overwhelmed the host East Hall Vikings softball squad by a count of 12-0 in Thursday's league challenge.

Next, the Purple Hurricanes meet the Morgan County Bulldogs (Madison, GA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, September 9. Monroe Area will attempt to upgrade on its 9-7 season record. The Bulldogs go into the challenge with a 8-2 record after their 11-0 non-league win over Jackson (Jackson, GA).

The Vikings (6-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Cherokee Bluff (Flowery Branch, GA). The Bears go into the 3A Region 8 challenge with a 10-5 record. In their last challenge, Cherokee Bluff toppled Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA), 14-4, in a league challenge.
