In Thursday's non-league match, the host Franklin County Lions softball team scored a tight 3-0 win over the Madison County Red Raiders.

The Lions (12-6) will now prepare for their match against Hebron Christian (Dacula, GA). The Lions come into the 2A Region 8 match with a 14-1 record. In their last match, Hebron Christian nipped East Jackson (Commerce, GA), 9-1, in a league match.

In their next game, the Red Raiders confront the Elbert County Blue Devils (Elberton, GA) in a non-league match, on Monday, September 9. Madison County will attempt to better on its 5-8 season record. The Blue Devils come into the match with a 6-8 record after their 9-1 league win over Providence Christian Academy (Lilburn, GA).
