The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Oglethorpe County Patriots (Lexington, GA) and the host Lincoln County Red Devils (Lincolnton, GA), observed Oglethorpe County's softball team get by Lincoln County by a tally of 14-9.

The Patriots (11-3) will now prepare for their bout against Elbert County (Elberton, GA). The Blue Devils go into the 1A D-I Region 8 bout with a 6-8 record. In their last bout, Elbert County tipped Providence Christian Academy (Lilburn, GA), 9-1, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Red Devils clash with the Lake Oconee Academy Titans (Greensboro, GA) in a 1A D-II Region 8 bout, on Tuesday, September 10. Lincoln County will attempt to advance on its 6-5 season record.
