Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Clarke Indians (Osceola, IA) and the host Central Decatur Cardinals (Leon, IA), observed Clarke's volleyball team hold off Central Decatur by a tally of 2-1.

The Indians (1-1) will now prepare for their bout against Saydel (Des Moines, IA). The Eagles come into the bout with a 1-3 record. In their last bout, Saydel was nudged by Roland-Story (Story City, IA), 3-0, in a non-league bout.

With the loss, Central Decatur drops to 1-3 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Martensdale-St. Mary's (Martensdale, IA) to clash with the Blue Devils in a bout on Tuesday, September 10. The Blue Devils come into the bout with a record of 2-0. Martensdale-St. Mary's won 3-2 in their recent non-league bout against Twin Cedars (Bussey, IA)
