In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Edsel Ford Thunderbirds volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Dearborn Pioneers.

The Thunderbirds (2-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Stevenson (Livonia, MI). The Spartans enter the non-league challenge with a 6-6 record. In their last challenge, Stevenson got by Belleville (Belleville, MI), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Pioneers battle the Divine Child Falcons (Dearborn, MI) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, September 5. Dearborn will attempt to move on its 1-4 season record. The Falcons enter the contest with a 5-5 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Cabrini (Allen Park, MI).
