The Newton Rams volleyball team scored 2 points and restricted the visiting Rockdale County Bulldogs to 1 in the Rams non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Rams now possess a 4-8 record. They play next when they travel to Monroe Area for a non-league outing on Saturday, September 7. Newton will play a Purple Hurricanes team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Athens Academy (Athens, GA). The Purple Hurricanes record now stands at 8-12.

With the loss, Rockdale County drops to 4-5 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Shiloh (Snellville, GA) to play the Generals in a non-league outing on Thursday, September 5. The Generals come into the outing with a record of 11-12. Shiloh lost 2-0 in their recent league outing against Woodward Academy (College Park, GA)
