In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Port Arthur Memorial Titans volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the West Hardin Oilers.

The Titans (4-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Sterling (Baytown, TX). The Rangers come into the challenge with a 6-14 record. In their last challenge, Sterling was nudged by Pasadena (Pasadena, TX), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Oilers play the West Brook Bruins (Beaumont, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 7. West Hardin will attempt to upgrade on its 13-13 season record. The Bruins come into the challenge with a 17-7 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Colmesneil (Colmesneil, TX).
