The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the North Polk Comets (Alleman, IA) and the visiting Newton Cardinals (Newton, IA), saw North Polk's football team nip Newton by a final score of 16-13.

With the win, North Polk advances its record to 2-0 on the season. The Comets host A-D-M (Adel, IA) to encounter the Tigers in a non-league bout on Friday, September 12. The Tigers enter the contest with a record of 2-0. A-D-M won 41-3 in their recent non-league contest against Ballard (Huxley, IA)
