Fans at Friday's league battle between the Mattanawcook Lynx (Lincoln, ME) and the visiting Orono Riots (Orono, ME), saw Mattanawcook's soccer squad hold off Orono by a score of 1-0.

The Lynx (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Ashland (Ashland, ME). The Hornets enter the non-league battle with a 2-0 record. In their last battle, Ashland tipped Southern Aroostook (Dyer Brook, ME), 7-0, in a league battle.

In their next game, the Riots meet the Central Red Devils (East Corinth, ME) in a Class C - North test, on Tuesday, September 9. Orono will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record.
