Fans at Friday's non-league battle between the Waterville Panthers (Waterville, ME) and the host Mount View Mustangs (Thorndike, ME), saw Waterville's soccer squad knock off Mount View by a count of 4-1.

The Panthers (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Medomak Valley (Waldoboro, ME). The Panthers come into the Class B - North battle with a 1-0 record. In their last battle, Medomak Valley tipped Winslow (Winslow, ME), 3-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Mustangs battle the Maine Central Institute Huskies (Pittsfield, ME) in a Class C - North battle, on Tuesday, September 9. Mount View will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Huskies enter the battle with a 0-1 record after their 1-1 non-league Nokomis (Newport, ME).
