In Friday's league outing, the host Union City Soaring Eagles soccer squad scored a tight 2-1 win over the Kearny Kardinals.
The Soaring Eagles (1-1) will now prepare for their test against Scotch Plains-Fanwood (Scotch Plains, NJ). The Raiders come into the non-league test with a 0-0 record.
The Kardinals now sport a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they host North Bergen for a Hudson County - Coviello test on Monday, September 8. Kearny will clash with a Bruins team coming off a 0-0 non-league Bayonne (Bayonne, NJ). The Bruins record now stands at 2-1.
