Fans at Friday's non-league battle between the South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC) and the host North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC), saw South Brunswick's soccer squad hold off North Brunswick by a count of 1-0.
The Cougars (3-4) will now prepare for their match against West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC). The Trojans come into the non-league match with a 5-1 record. In their last match, West Brunswick nipped Whiteville (Whiteville, NC), 2-0, in a non-league match.
The Scorpions now sport a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they host Pender for a non-league match on Monday, September 8. North Brunswick will meet a Patriots team coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to West Bladen (Bladenboro, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 0-6.
