In Tuesday's league contest, the Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) volleyball squad knocked off the visiting George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA), by a margin of 3-0.
Next up, the Spartans battle the Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA) in a Mountain Empire contest, on Thursday, September 8. Giles will attempt to better on its 5-1 season record. The Blue Devils come into the contest with a 3-2 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Chilhowie (Chilhowie, VA).
With the loss, George Wythe drops to 1-3 on the campaign. The Maroons host Auburn (Riner, VA) to battle the Eagles in a Mountain Empire contest on Thursday, September 8. The Eagles come into the contest with a record of 2-2.
