The Lakewood Gators volleyball team (Sumter, SC), was dropped 2-0 in Tuesday's non-league challenge with the host Sumter Fighting Gamecocks (Sumter, SC)

The Fighting Gamecocks (5-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Socastee (Myrtle Beach, SC). The Braves enter the AAAAA Region 5 challenge with a 7-2 record. In their last challenge, Socastee was dropped by North Myrtle Beach (Little River, SC), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Gators encounter the Crestwood Knights (Sumter, SC) in a AAA Region 6 challenge, on Thursday, September 8. Lakewood will attempt to move on its 0-4 season record. The Knights enter the challenge with a 1-5 record after their 3-0 league loss to Darlington (Darlington, SC).
