In Wednesday's league battle, the visiting Peabody Veterans Memorial Tanners soccer squad scored a close 4-1 win over the Danvers Falcons.

The Tanners (1-0) will now prepare for their test against Salem (Salem, MA). The Witches come into the Northeast test with a 1-1 record. In their last test, Salem nudged Arlington Catholic (Arlington, MA), 5-0, in a non-league test.

With the loss, Danvers drops to 1-2 on the season. The Falcons travel to Masconomet Regional (Boxford, MA) to meet the Chieftains in a Northeast test on Friday, September 8. The Chieftains come into the test with a record of 2-0. Masconomet Regional won 3-1 in their recent league test against Beverly (Beverly, MA)
