In Wednesday's league battle, the visiting Pender Patriots soccer squad scored a close 6-0 triumph over the East Columbus Gators.

The Patriots (2-2) will now prepare for their battle against North Brunswick (Leland, NC). The Scorpions come into the non-league battle with a 4-2 record. In their last battle, North Brunswick nudged Whiteville (Whiteville, NC), 5-0, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Gators battle the West Bladen Knights (Bladenboro, NC) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, September 7. East Columbus will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 1-5 record after their 3-2 non-league loss to Union (Rose Hill, NC).
