The Hornets come into the contest with a record of 11-0. Cook won 9-7 in their recent league contest against Jeff Davis (Hazlehurst, GA)

In their next game, the Indians play the Brooks County Trojans (Quitman, GA) in a 1A D-I Region 1 contest, on Thursday, September 7. Irwin County will attempt to move on its 4-4 season record. The Trojans come into the contest with a 1-7 record after their 21-2 non-league loss to Clinch County (Homerville, GA).
