Fans at Friday's league battle between the Gloucester Fishermen (Gloucester, MA) and the host Salem Witches (Salem, MA), saw Gloucester's soccer squad hold off Salem by a score of 2-1.

The Fishermen (1-3) will now prepare for their battle against Danvers (Danvers, MA). The Falcons enter the battle with a 1-2 record. In their last battle, Danvers was edged by Beverly (Beverly, MA), 5-2, in a league battle.

Next up, the Witches confront the Peabody Veterans Memorial Tanners (Peabody, MA) in a contest, on Monday, September 9. Salem will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Tanners enter the contest with a 1-1 record after their 2-0 league loss to Masconomet Regional (Boxford, MA).
