With the win, Downey improves its record to 8-2 on the season. The Vikings travel to Gahr (Cerritos, CA) to face the Gladiators in a non-league test on Saturday, September 7. The Gladiators go into the test with a record of 8-6. Gahr won 3-0 in their recent non-league test against Bellflower (Bellflower, CA)

The Spartans now own a 4-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bishop Montgomery for a non-league test on Friday, September 6. Schurr will face a Knights squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Long Beach Poly (Long Beach, CA). The Knights record now stands at 1-3.
