With the triumph, Northwest improves its record to 9-2 on the year. The Vikings travel to Kearney Catholic (Kearney, NE) to face the Stars in a non-league contest on Monday, September 8. The Stars enter the contest with a record of 10-1. Kearney Catholic won 10-0 in their recent league bout against Central City (Central City, NE)

In their next game, the Bearcats clash with the Lincoln East Spartans (Lincoln, NE) in a A District bout, on Tuesday, September 9. Kearney will attempt to advance on its 11-4 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 9-3 record after their 12-0 league win over Fremont (Fremont, NE).
