Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Lynn Bears (Lynn, AL) and the host Brilliant Tigers (Brilliant, AL), observed Lynn's volleyball team hold off Brilliant by a count of 2-1.

The Bears (3-7) will now prepare for their battle against Hubbertville (Fayette, AL). The Lions go into the 1A Area 11 battle with a 1-4 record. In their last battle, Hubbertville was edged by Hackleburg (Hackleburg, AL), 2-1, in a non-league battle.

The Tigers now own a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Marion County for a 1A Area 14 battle on Tuesday, September 9. Brilliant will encounter a Red Raiders squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Russellville (Russellville, AL). The Red Raiders record now stands at 5-5.
