In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Valley Catholic Valiants volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Cascade Cougars.

The Valiants (7-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Oregon Episcopal (Portland, OR). The Aardvarks go into the 3A Lewis & Clark test with a 1-1 record. In their last test, Oregon Episcopal was edged by Horizon Christian (Tualatin, OR), 3-1, in a league test.

The Cougars now own a 6-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Newport for a 4A Oregon West test on Saturday, September 6. Cascade will meet a Cubs team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Tillamook (Tillamook, OR). The Cubs record now stands at 1-0.
