In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Mt. Vernon Rams volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Neoga Indians.
The Rams (3-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Mattoon (Mattoon, IL). The Greenwave come into the non-league challenge with a 1-2 record. In their last test, Mattoon nudged Charleston (Charleston, IL), 2-0, in a league test.
The Indians now sport a 3-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Springfield for a non-league test on Saturday, September 6. Neoga will face a Senators squad coming off a 2-0 league loss to Normal University (Normal, IL). The Senators record now stands at 7-2.
