The Long County Blue Tide routed the visiting Calvary Day Cavaliers softball squad by a count of 8-1 in Wednesday's league battle.

The Blue Tide (10-2) will now prepare for their battle against Telfair County (McRae, GA). The Trojans go into the non-league battle with a 5-4 record. In their last battle, Telfair County nudged Wheeler County (Alamo, GA), 11-0, in a league battle.

The Cavaliers now sport a 2-3 record. They play next when they travel to McIntosh County Academy for a non-league battle on Saturday, September 10. Calvary Day will meet a Buccaneers squad coming off a 16-2 league loss to Emanuel County Institute (Twin City, GA). The Buccaneers record now stands at 2-8.
