The Alva Goldbugs softball team scored 3 runs and limited the host Blackwell Maroons to 1 in the Goldbugs non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Alva improves its record to 13-9 on the year. The Goldbugs host Chisholm (Enid, OK) to clash with the Longhorns in a non-league game on Monday, September 11. The Longhorns come into the game with a record of 5-17. Chisholm lost 6-5 in their recent non-league game against Luther (Luther, OK)

In their next game, the Maroons clash with the Ponca City Wildcats (Ponca City, OK) in a non-league game, on Friday, September 8. Blackwell will attempt to improve on its 10-14 season record. The Wildcats come into the game with a 14-8 record after their 13-0 non-league win over Putnam City West (Oklahoma City, OK).
