Cartersville Hurricanes (Cartersville, GA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Dalton Catamounts (Dalton, GA), 15-4 in a league challenge.

The Hurricanes now sport a 10-4 record. They take the field next when they host Sonoraville for a non-league challenge on Monday, September 11. Cartersville will face a Phoenix squad coming off a 10-2 league loss to Central (Carrollton, GA). The Phoenix record now stands at 10-5.

With the loss, Dalton falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Catamounts travel to Calhoun (Calhoun, GA) to face the Yellow Jackets in a 5A Region 7 challenge on Tuesday, September 12. The Yellow Jackets enter the challenge with a record of 9-6. Calhoun won 7-6 in their recent league challenge against Cass (White, GA)
