Lincoln East Spartans (Lincoln, NE) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Columbus Discoverers (Columbus, NE), 12-4 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 13-2 record. They take the field next when they host Lincoln High for a A District challenge on Monday, September 11. Lincoln East will battle a Links squad coming off a 12-0 league loss to Fremont (Fremont, NE). The Links record now stands at 0-6.

With the loss, Columbus falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Discoverers travel to Omaha Central (Omaha, NE) to battle the Eagles in a A District challenge on Tuesday, September 12. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 2-8.
