The Simpson Academy Cougars (Mendenhall, MS) softball routed the visiting Prentiss Christian Saints (Prentiss, MS), 14-2 in Thursday's non-league bout.
The Cougars (14-8) will now prepare for their bout against Leake Academy (Madden, MS). The Rebels go into the non-league bout with a 0-1 record. In their last bout, Leake Academy was routed by Simpson Academy (Mendenhall, MS), 4-1, in a league bout.
The Saints now possess a 3-5 record. They play next when they host Bowling Green for a non-league bout on Saturday, September 9. Prentiss Christian will battle a Buccaneers squad coming off a 17-6 non-league loss to Oak Forest Academy (Amite, LA). The Buccaneers record now stands at 3-8.
