9/7/2023 - The #12 Bel Air Bobcats (1-0) began their regular season with a 3-0 sweep over Aberdeen on Thursday (25-17, 25-13, 25-11). After a slow start they pulled ahead for a convincing win. Senior setter Tia Pegler (24 assists, 3 kills, 1 ace) and junior setter Anna Kane (11 assists, 5 kills, 3 aces) connected with seven different hitters for a total of 38 kills in the 3 sets. Senior outside hitter Kayden Hardenbrook led the way with 8 kills. Sophomore outside hitter Annalise Lewis had 6 kills, Kane and junior middle Lucy Griger both had 5 kills, junior middle Olivia Mannion had 4 kills, Pegler and senior right side Brooke Hopkins had 3 kills, and middle hitter Aubrie Faulker chipped in 2 kills. Kane and sophomore defensive specialist Emma Duvall had 3 aces each and accounted for six of the team's 13 total aces. The defense was led by Duvall, senior Libero Megan Schindhelm and junior defensive specialist Lilia Dziedzic.
