The Tigers (12-5) will now prepare for their challenge against DeSoto Central (Southaven, MS). The Jaguars come into the non-league challenge with a 11-4 record. In their last challenge, DeSoto Central nudged Southaven (Southaven, MS), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Golden Eagles encounter the Columbia Eagles (Huntsville, AL) in a 6A Area 15 challenge, on Tuesday, September 12. Athens will attempt to move on its 10-8 season record.
