The Elbert County Blue Devils held off the visiting Commerce Tigers volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Thursday's league test.
The Blue Devils now have a 5-18 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rabun County for a 1A Area 8 test on Tuesday, September 12. Elbert County will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 2-0 league win over Athens Christian (Athens, GA). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-15.
The Tigers (6-22) will now prepare for their test against Loganville (Loganville, GA). The Red Devils enter the non-league test with a 16-6 record. In their last test, Loganville held off Eastside (Covington, GA), 2-0, in a league test.
