In Thursday's league contest, the Northview Wildcats (Sylvania, OH) volleyball squad were winner over the visiting Findlay Trojans (Findlay, OH), by a margin of 3-0.
Next up, the Wildcats battle the Steele Comets (Amherst, OH) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, September 9. Northview will attempt to better on its 5-2 season record. The Comets go into the contest with a 3-5 record after their 3-0 league win over Elyria (Elyria, OH).
With the loss, Findlay moves to 6-4 on the year. The Trojans travel to Defiance (Defiance, OH) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league contest on Tuesday, September 12. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a record of 3-5.
Match Summary
SYLVANIA - In the first meeting between Findlay and Northview in the new Northern Lakes League, Buckeye Division, and the Wildcats were able to complete the sweep to move to 5-2 overall, 4-1 NLL.
Leading for Northview was senior middle blocker, Claire Smith with a career performance, 15 kills on 17 attempts, hitting .824 and senior opposite/setter, Natalie Kerchevall with 15 kills, hitting .367, with 3 aces and 4 digs. Senior setter, Hannah Schoen added a double-double performance with 45 assists and 10 digs, while senior libero, Jordyn Pakulski chipped in a team high 15 digs. Freshman middle blocker, Frankie Ramsdell-Washington added 7 kills on 12 attempts, hitting .471 and sophomore outside hitter, Tali Twigg, added 7 kills.
As a team, Northview passed 2.02 and broke two school records in tonights match - the most kills by a team in a 3 set match (48) and the most assists by a team in a 3 set match (47).
The Wildcats return to action on Saturday at Amherst Steele.
