The Glenelg Gladiators volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the host Mt. Hebron Vikings to 1 in the Gladiators league victory on Thursday.
The Gladiators now have a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Frederick for a non-league game on Saturday, September 9.
The Vikings (1-1) will now prepare for their game against Glenelg (Glenelg, MD). The Gladiators enter the non-league game with a 2-0 record. In their last game, Glenelg gained a win over Mt. Hebron (Ellicott City, MD), 3-1, in a league game.
Match Summary
Glenelg came out firing with Isard Bernades scoring some big kills early on as well as Julia Preston. Mt. Hebron came out with more fire and catching Glenelg on some ball control errors. The third set, Glenelg came out strong with its offense, again with Preston and Bernades coming on along with Avery Hubbard who had a big serving run to help win the third set. The fourth set, the middle blockers had to come out huge and Ilyssa Newman and Liesl Walter added some blocks and kills. Glenelg was down 24-23, but Avery Hubbard came in to serve and help with tying and getting Glenelg ahead before finally pulling away 27-25. Credit to Mt. Hebron for showing a lot of fun.
