The Wildcats now have a 10-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Tupelo for a non-league test on Saturday, September 9. Walnut will confront a Golden Wave team coming off a 3-0 league win over Starkville (Starkville, MS). The Golden Wave record now stands at 11-8.

The Lions (3-7) will now prepare for their test against Tupelo (Tupelo, MS). The Golden Wave enter the non-league test with a 11-8 record. In their last test, Tupelo gained a win over Starkville (Starkville, MS), 3-0, in a league test.
