The Kirbyville Wildcats held off the host High Island Cardinals volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Wildcats now have a 2-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Orangefield for a 3A Region III District 22 test on Friday, September 8. Kirbyville will battle a Bobcats squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Hamshire-Fannett (Hamshire, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 10-5.
With the loss, High Island moves to 8-9 on the year. The Cardinals host Spurger (Spurger, TX) to battle the Pirates in a 1A Region IV District 26 contest on Friday, September 22. The Pirates go into the contest with a record of 0-5.
