Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the Geneseo Maple Leafs (Geneseo, IL) and the visiting Orion/Sherrard United (Orion, IL), saw Geneseo's soccer squad hold off Orion/Sherrard by a count of 2-1.

The Maple Leafs (2-2) will now prepare for their battle against Moline (Moline, IL). The Maroons enter the Western Big 6 battle with a 3-1 record. In their last battle, Moline tipped Minooka (Minooka, IL), 7-1, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the United battle the East Moline United Panthers (East Moline, IL) in a non-league battle, on Monday, September 9. Orion/Sherrard will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Panthers enter the battle with a 4-1 record after their 4-3 non-league loss to Washington (Washington, IL).
