The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Columbus Discoverers (Columbus, NE) and the host Fremont Tigers (Fremont, NE), observed Columbus's softball team get by Fremont by a tally of 10-9.

The Discoverers (4-7) will now prepare for their bout against Lincoln Northeast (Lincoln, NE). The Rockets go into the A District bout with a 3-7 record. In their last bout, Lincoln Northeast was nipped by Blue Springs South (Blue Springs, MO), 8-1, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Tigers clash with the Norfolk Panthers (Norfolk, NE) in a A District bout, on Tuesday, September 10. Fremont will attempt to advance on its 4-10 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 13-2 record after their 10-0 league win over Lincoln Southeast (Lincoln, NE).
