The Newton Eagles (Newton, IL) volleyball held off the host Edwards County Lions (Albion, IL), 2-1 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Eagles now possess a 6-2 record. They play next when they travel to Mt. Zion for a non-league bout on Saturday, September 7. Newton will clash with a Braves team coming off a 2-1 league loss to Effingham (Effingham, IL). The Braves record now stands at 1-2.
