In Thursday's league battle, the host Carterville Lions soccer squad scored a close 3-2 win over the Harrisburg Bulldogs.
The Lions (2-2) will now prepare for their battle against Pinckneyville (Pinckneyville, IL). The Panthers go into the Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio battle with a 2-8 record. In their last battle, Pinckneyville was nudged by Richland County (Olney, IL), 7-1, in a non-league battle.
The Bulldogs (3-2) will now prepare for their battle against Mt. Carmel (Mt. Carmel, IL). The Golden Aces go into the non-league battle with a 4-4 record. In their last battle, Mt. Carmel nipped Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IL), 6-0, in a non-league battle.
