Central Lions (Carrollton, GA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Sonoraville Phoenix (Calhoun, GA), 6-1 in a league challenge.

The Lions now sport a 11-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Newnan for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 9. Central will face a Cougars squad coming off a 9-1 league win over Paulding County (Dallas, GA). The Cougars record now stands at 10-3.

With the loss, Sonoraville falls to 3-9 on the campaign. The Phoenix travel to Dawson County (Dawsonville, GA) to face the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Monday, September 12. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 2-12. Dawson County won 2-0 in their recent league challenge against Lumpkin County (Dahlonega, GA)
