Lanier Longhorns (Sugar Hill, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Gainesville Red Elephants (Gainesville, GA), 12-0 in a league challenge.

The Longhorns now own a 4-8 record. They take the field next when they host Shiloh for a 6A Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, September 13. Lanier will face a Generals squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Apalachee (Winder, GA). The Generals record now stands at 4-8.

With the loss, Gainesville falls to 0-16 on the campaign. The Red elephants travel to Jackson County (Jefferson, GA) to face the Panthers in a 6A Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, September 13. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 3-7. Jackson County won 2-1 in their recent league challenge against North Forsyth (Cumming, GA)
