Spectators at Thursday's league match between the Pickens Dragons (Jasper, GA) and the host Gilmer Bobcats (Ellijay, GA), witnessed Pickens's softball squad tip Gilmer by a count of 4-0.

The Dragons now sport a 10-6 record. They play next when they travel to West Hall for a 3A Region 7 match on Tuesday, September 13. Pickens will face a Spartans squad coming off a 13-0 league loss to Wesleyan (Norcross, GA). The Spartans record now stands at 6-6.

With the loss, Gilmer moves to 5-8 on the season. The Bobcats travel to Sprayberry (Marietta, GA) to face the Yellow Jackets in a non-league match on Saturday, September 10. The Yellow Jackets go into the match with a record of 9-8. Sprayberry won 2-1 in their recent league match against Alpharetta (Alpharetta, GA)
