The Rocky Mount Gryphons volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the visiting Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets to 0 in the Gryphons league victory on Thursday.

The Gryphons now have a 3-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Southern Nash for a The Big East 2A/3A game on Tuesday, September 13. Rocky Mount will meet a Firebirds team coming off a 3-1 league win over Bunn (Bunn, NC). The Firebirds record now stands at 6-4.

The Yellowjackets (3-3) will now prepare for their game against South Granville (Creedmoor, NC). The Vikings enter the non-league game with a 4-2 record. In their last game, South Granville gained a win over Vance County (Henderson, NC), 3-0, in a league game.
