Fans at Monday's non-league contest between the Essex Trojans (Tappahannock, VA) and the visiting Surry County Cougars (Dendron, VA), saw Essex's volleyball squad nudge Surry County by a score of 2-1.

With the win, Essex improves its record to 2-3 on the season. The Trojans travel to King & Queen Central (King & Queen Court House, VA) to encounter the Royal Tigers in a non-league battle on Monday, September 15. The Royal Tigers go into the battle with a record of 3-0.
