North Carolina High School Volleyball - Smoky Mountain over Robbinsville

Fans at Monday's non-league contest between the Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC) and the host Robbinsville Black Knights (Robbinsville, NC), observed Smoky Mountain's volleyball team top Robbinsville by a score of 3-1.

With the win, Smoky Mountain improves its record to 5-5 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Franklin (Franklin, NC) to encounter the Panthers in a Mountain Eight 4A/5A battle on Tuesday, September 9. The Panthers go into the battle with a record of 12-1. Franklin won 2-0 in their recent non-league battle against Crest (Shelby, NC)

The Black Knights now own a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hayesville for a Smoky Mountain 1A/2A battle on Tuesday, September 9. Robbinsville will encounter a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Rosman (Rosman, NC). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 8-2.
